We don't see a focus on any single type of flower like you see for Valentines Day.
It seems to depend a lot on the destination - arrangements for the home, bouquets if the family is out for a meal etc.

One of the 'good' things about MD is that recipients are;

• almost always glad to see the flowers (see comment below) and

liveries can be made during the run up to MD rather than all on the day as is the case for VD


We often see an outbreak of what we call "mother-in-law" flowers where daughter in law (DIL) sends flowers, mother in law (MIL) tells her they were 'awful', we call MIL and there was no problem.  i suspect the flowers could be gold-plated and MIL would still not like what DIL has sent.
